You are going to work in teams of 3 – 4.
Each of you will use this page submit 1 or 2 plans for an exploration.
Once you have panned it all out, use the form to submit your plans. The leaders will review and decide which we think is best suited. We may chose one plan, or combine different plans together. Once we have decided a a plan, you will work together to finalise
Details
There are the specifics you need to plan around:
- The date for the Exploration is 24th – 25th January 2026
- You will be in a group of 10 Scouts
- You need to travel about 90 mins each away
- The budget is about £30 for each Scout
You will need answer the following questions:
Discuss these with your team. Take notes and see what is best. When ready, submit your answers at the bottom.
- Location – Which city do you find interesting and would you like to visit? Which has the most to offer? (Look at different activities you think you will find interesting)
- Activities – What can we do at this city? How much will it cost?
- Travel – How will we get there? How long will it take? How much will it cost? (Look at trains and coaches/buses. Google maps will be helpful)
- Accommodation – Where can we stay? (Look at Scout Halls, Youth Hostels and Bunk houses in the area. Google maps will be helpful)
- Meals – There are 4 meals to consider. What we we going to eat? Does the accommodation have a kitchen? Are there shops near by? Do we need to bring anything? What will each meal cost? (If everyone brings a packed lunch for day 1 from home then this will keep the cost down)
- Equipment – Does the activity need any tools like a map and compass. Does the accommodation have beds or do you need sleeping bags and maps? What do you think the weather till be like?
Note: Be sure to add up all the costs together to see if we are close to the £30 budget.
When you are ready, click on the “Submit plan” at the bottom to enter our plan. You can submit more than 1 plan if you wish.
